What is Honda Sensing®?
If you’re considering a new Honda, you many be wondering, “What is Honda Sensing®, and what does it do?” Honda Sensing® is a package of driver assists that’s offered on many new Honda vehicles, such as the Honda Accord and Honda Pilot.
The Honda Sensing® package includes a handful of intelligent systems to help you monitor your car’s front and rear, as well as its blind spots. Learn more about it below!

Honda Sensing® Safety Technologies
With Honda Sensing®, you can travel through Omaha and Gretna with greater confidence than you can in a Nissan vehicle, thanks to the following safety features:
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS): Can apply the brakes to help you avoid a collision with a vehicle ahead.
- Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM): Uses a forward-facing camera to monitor road markings and will warn you if you begin to drift from the road.
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): Helps you maintain a safe preset following distance.
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS): Automatically adjusts steering torque to bring your vehicle back to the center of its lane.
- Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR): Uses a camera to monitor speed limit signs.
Can You Turn Off Honda Sensing®?
Yes! Understandably, you don’t need to use features like collision warning or lane departure mitigation all the time. To turn off RDM, for example, simply press the button under ECON. You can also turn off LKS by pushing the MAIN button on the steering wheel until the indicators in the instrument cluster are no longer visible.
Want to change the Honda Sensing® settings? From the HOME screen, select “Settings,” then “Vehicle Settings,” and finally, “Driver Assist Setup.” Here, you can change different aspects of your car’s driver assistive technologies, such as CMBS distance warnings.
